Two days ago was my hubby’s birthday. As part of my gift to him, I wrote a special tribute for my hubby here on the blog. On that post, I mentioned that I had planned a dinner date with him in order to celebrate his birthday. My plan was actually to take him to Silk at Serendra for some Thai food. I had won a Silk gift certificate a few weeks ago and planned to use it to pay for part of our dinner bill. So, on Tuesday night, we left the kids at home with our helper and off we went to Serendra. Well, what do you know? It turns out that Silk had closed down. Argh! FAIL!
You have no idea how totally disappointed I was. It has been a LONG time since my hubby and I had a date night and so I wanted this one to be perfect. So, I tried to make it up to him by asking him to just choose where he wanted to eat. I made several suggestions to make his decision-making easier. However, he said he wasn’t really that hungry since we already ate a light dinner with the kids before we left. So, what he really wanted was to go to Jamba Juice. What?! That was my reaction. I wasn’t expecting that answer. That was totally so opposite of where I wanted to go. Well, he said he made that choice because he hasn’t tried Jamba Juice yet anyway. So, what do you think happened? Of course, we went to Jamba Juice.
My hubby tried the Caribbean Passion Classic Smoothie plus a cheese pretzel while I tried the Strawberries Wild Classic Smoothie and a Spinach n’ Cheese Wrap. Oh how I love strawberries. The wrap was so yummy too! Will order it again next time.

After we were done with Jamba Juice the night was still young. So since we had nothing else to do, I decided to ask my hubby to go to Timezone with me. I know! It was turning out to be such a typical high school date. However, I was hoping we could do some videoke, which is my favorite bonding activity with him. As it turned out, all the videoke booths in Timezone were full at that time. Argh! MAJOR FAIL! So, hubby ended up playing some games instead. He said he has outgrown them already though. I think he only played for my sake. He probably didn’t want to hurt my feelings. Haha!

Hubby was actually getting a little self-conscious with me taking his photo all the time so he made a funny face on this one.

I didn’t really play anything except for the Angry Birds game, which was also a total failure because the game  seemed to not work like it was supposed to. However, we still ended up getting this much tickets from it!!! What the ….???!!!

We ended up with 139 tickets and 352 points. Whoa! That has never happened to me before.

Of course, we used up all the points to get the kids something. We chose a yellow basketball for Ziggy and some Chips Ahoy for Zoe and Ziya. Then we went home at 10 p.m. Wow. We were only gone for 4 measly hours and we were home way before midnight. Wow.
Okay, so the night wasn’t a total failure. At the very least, it made for a funny albeit kinda pathetic story for me to write about.  Looking at the bright side though, I spent 4 hours of alone time with my hubby. That’s worth a lot nowadays because that doesn’t happen anymore with Ziggy around. We were able to talk about a lot of things and just enjoyed each other’s company. So, I really shouldn’t complain. Let’s just hope that next year will be a lot better.
