This is the first time I have sat down to blog in a week. Even as I write this, I know that I will not be able to finish typing this post before another mommy concern comes up. Nevertheless, I want to share with you what’s up with me lately and why the past week and a half have just been CRAZY!
It all started two Sundays ago when our maid left our house for a day off, with the promise that she’ll be back the next morning. By Monday afternoon, she still hadn’t returned and wasn’t responding to my text messages. I started having this feeling that she wasn’t going to return for work at all. I mean, it’s not like this sort of thing hasn’t happened to us before with other maids. I was right. She only replied to me on Tuesday afternoon when I texted her to at least tell me if she’s coming back or not so that I can try to find a replacement already if needed. She finally replied and said that we should start finding a new maid already and that she’ll just come over to get her things. What the —-??!!! And so, that signaled the start of another maid-less existence.
I will no longer bore you with details of what I need to do everyday in order to efficiently raise three kids (and a hubby!), manage a home and achieve my work-at-home objectives. Let’s just say that everyday is busy from BEFORE the sun goes up until way after midnight. Add that to the fact that last week, my hubby was diagnosed with very high blood pressure, which led to us going to his doctor twice. The first was for a consultation and the second for a series of tests that the doctor had him take. Plus, Ziggy has been having bouts of asthma every few days. He will suddenly start coughing for no reason, to the point that he would puke. Oh, and he has been having diarrhea as well. Aside from that, last Tuesday I also had to pick up products for my soon-to-be online business and finish my first article for Colgate that was due that day. I had to attend a workshop with the Women’s Business Council last Friday and a party with hubby’s side of the family last Saturday. Typing all of that already makes me tired and that was just stuff I had to do last week.
This week is even harder. We lost our Internet connection last Sunday night. Monday morning I called PLDT and asked why the line was cut when I was only delayed in paying the latest bill by 5 days (they normally cut the line only when you haven’t paid for two months). They told me that because of their new automatic system, lines will be cut automatically when you don’t pay by due date. Great system, right? Well, they could have at least told their customers ahead of time!!!! You know what the customer representative replied to that? Pasensya na po, ma’am…. Hello! At least a couple of my friends also experienced the same thing and it’s infuriating. What great customer service – NOT! Just when I was so busy setting up my online store, this happens. Nice.
Oh, and that was just Monday morning. Monday night I had to deal with my daughters’ Second Quarter Final Exams. I had to help them review of course, which I actually am still doing until now because they have exams until tomorrow. Yesterday, we had to go back to hubby’s doctor to get the test results, and what do you know, he was also diagnosed with a high sugar level, some enlargement of a portion of his heart plus he has gallstones as well. Just great. While none of his health problems are major causes for concern right now, they still need to be treated so that they won’t get worse. New things to worry about. Fantastic.
Plus, Ziggy’s not done with his sporadic asthma attacks. Zoe and Ziya still can’t keep their room clean. I still haven’t bought them Halloween costumes for the trick or treat event we’re attending this Sunday. I also have to attend another workshop on Saturday. I have yet to finish a review and giveaway for this blog that’s due tomorrow. I have a million other tasks to finish so that I can launch my business next week.
I feel so dead tired just thinking about all of this. God help me!
And for those of you who think that I should look at the brighter side of things, don’t worry because I do. I just need this moment to rant. Thank you.
