I have a confession to make. Ever since I first got myself an Android late last month, I’ve been tinkering with it all the time. I’ve been downloading app after app after app and familiarizing myself with all the things I can possibly do with my new toy. I guess, that’s okay, right? However, I’m seriously obsessed with just one app right now and that is Instagram.
Oh my gosh! I knew that once I started using Instagram I wouldn’t be able to stop. You see, I love taking photos. As in, LOVE it! I always have my digicam in my bag. I have to have it with me all the time. It’s just that I know life is full of wonderful moments, which can be fleeting. So, why not capture it on camera while you can, right?
My love for photography started way back when I was 7 years old and my dad first taught me how to take pictures with his camera. He loves taking photos too and was actually part of the photography club when he was in college. I guess, that rubbed off on me. My favorite class when I was majoring in Communication Arts in college was, you guessed it, Photography.
I wasn’t the best student in our Photography class but I got a pretty high final grade. My best photos were the portraits I took. Taking photos of inanimate objects is not really a strength of mine. I love taking photos of people though because I like capturing the moods and the emotions.
Anyway, I digress. I never really seriously thought of photography as a career option though. However, now I’m actually thinking about it. I just wish it weren’t that expensive to learn. I don’t even have a DSLR. I so want one! For now, though, I’ve been using Instagram as a way for me to take pictures and share it with everyone.
For those of you who haven’t been following me on Instagram yet, here are some of the photos I’ve taken. This is my first ever Instagram photo. This was taken at Krispy Kreme at Bonifacio High Street after Ziggy’s birthday swimming celebration. Cute, right?
I guess, you can already expect that since I’m a mom, my most favorite people to take photos of would be my kids. You guessed right! Here are some of the photos I’ve taken of my kids. Most are of Ziggy because he’s the one who’s with me all day every day.
Another thing I love taking photos of is food! Here are some of them.
Ahhh, there’s more of these on my Instagram account. I’m seriously addicted. So addicted that I find myself on my phone at the dining table taking photos and uploading on Instagram while everybody else are already eating. Bad, bad, bad! I need Instagram rehab!
Anyway, I guess, for someone who’s not really very artistic or creative, this is the only way I get to indulge in something creative. It makes me really want to buy my own DSLR. Soon, I hope. I have to really save for it first (unless someone out there wants to give me one, hahaha!).
