My hubby and I love to eat and we love to try new restaurants. I realized recently though that it has been a long time since I featured a new restaurant that we’ve tried. So, I decided it’s about time I post one again. Let me start by telling you about this new restaurant that opened at SM Bicutan a few months ago called, Silom Thai.

We chanced upon Silom Thai one day when we passed by the grocery store at SM. The place was quite small but modern looking and charming. It took a couple of weeks I think before we decided to try and eat there though and boy I’m glad we did.

Silom Thai is located at the 2nd floor, Building B of SM Bicutan in Paranaque, right outside the grocery store and near National Bookstore and Jollibee. Like I said the place is quite small that it probably has no more than 15 tables. But I liked the design of the place. It’s very modern Thai as you can see in these photos. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take more photos of the interiors.

The most important thing though is the food, of course. So far we’ve been to the place twice already and we really enjoyed everything we have ordered so far.

During our first visit, I was with the hubby and Ziggy. I’m a sucker for Pad Thai so I tried the one at Silom and it didn’t disappoint. It was really very tasty and true to the authentic Pad Thai taste. Β Plus, this serving is good for more than one person so you can definitely share it.

The hubby ordered the Beef Curry, which came with a serving of rice. Like the Pad Thai though, the serving is really good for more than one person. I must say that I really, truly loved this dish. Β I love curry but sometimes I find it too spicy in some restaurants. This one, however, was just right. The beef was soft and easy to cut and the curry sauce was very tasty with just enough spicy kick. This is definitely a must have.

On our second trip, we brought Zoe and Ziya with us so we were able to order more food. Ziya wanted some Chicken Satay so we ordered that. I must say that there wasn’t really anything special about the chicken itself but matched with their special blend of sweet and spicy sauce, it became really yummy too.

We actually avoided curry this time because the girls don’t really like spicy food. So, we ordered this Chicken Pandan instead. It was really, really, really good.

Zoe actually ordered some kind of noodle soup, but I wasn’t able to take a photo of it and obviously, I forgot what kind it was. So sorry about that. Must take note of trying it again next time. I can tell you though that the kids liked the soup itself, even Ziggy kept asking for more.

Aside from the great food, the service was great too. The crew were friendly and accommodating and very knowledgeable about the food. The service was fast and so the turnover of customers was quick too. The greatest thing though, aside from the taste of the food, is the price. You’d think you’d have to pay a lot for food that tasted this good. But, you’d be surprised to know that most of the dishes here cost less than Php 200 per serving. That’s good value for money considering the serving size and the taste.

So, this is one restaurant we’re pretty happy about. Do visit them if you get the chance!

  1. I wish I was as adventurous with food like you! You can say that I’m an ordinary gal when it comes to food. My husband would even say I have the taste buds of an 8 year old kid.

  6. Been hearing so much about Thai food lately. I guess they’re making quite a hit among us nowadays. I’ve tried Thai food once but my mom did all the ordering then so I don’t remember what they are. It was at this place we passed somewhere in Laguna? Anyway, I like Thai food, the smell of it and all, but whatever makes some of them sweet, not so much. I’m going to need to try Thai again….I’ll take note of Silom and take your orders are recommendations. πŸ™‚
