It’s only the first week of February and we’ve already been in three road trips this year. Woohoo! My target to travel more with my family is coming true. Hopefully, we’ll be able to keep this up for the rest of the year.

Anyway, last weekend we went back to Tagaytay. We already went to Tagaytay in the beginning of January to spend some quality time before the kids went back to school after the holidays. This time, we went there with the hubby’s relatives. Four of them recently came for a visit from the U.S. and so they’re doing a lot of traveling here now. We had the pleasure of spending time with them during the weekend before this in Subic and this last weekend in Tagaytay.

We arrived in Tagaytay on Saturday afternoon to meet our other relatives. Going there, I honestly didn’t know where we’ll end up checking in. It was one of the aunts who made the reservation and we didn’t get the memo regarding where it will be. Apparently, in this family, I have to get used to surprises. Haha! And much to our surprise (and delight!) we checked in at Taal Vista Hotel. I haven’t checked in there in years so this was a real treat.

Here’s a photo of the girls in the lobby when we checked in.

Our Room

The first thing we did of course was go to our room and unpack. I was really looking forward to really nice accommodations and this one did not disappoint.

Here’s our very inviting king-sized bed….

…. which was so comfy that we all couldn’t wait to lie down on it….

Here’s the window side of the room. Excuse all our luggage. Obviously we haven’t unpacked yet when I started taking photos.

This is the cabinet area and the mini bar. I love that the cabinet doors have full length mirrors, not that I’m vain. Haha!  There’s a good selection of coffee and tea on the mini bar but we didn’t use any of them because there was a charge, which of course I didn’t like at all.

This is the bathroom. I love that they have hot water coz we don’t have a water heater at home. How I loved taking a hot shower here.

Another thing I love about this bathroom is that it has a hair dryer. Other hotels don’t. Plus this one has lots of free soap, shampoo and shower gels plus other bath essentials.

We didn’t get to stay long in our room that afternoon though because the family decided to go to mass that night. So off we went and this is what the outside of the hotel looked like — VERY foggy! I loved it. Ironically, it wasn’t really that cold at all though.

After mass, we all trooped to the clubhouse of Royale Tagaytay Country Club for a party celebrating the birthday of one of our uncles. Will blog about this separately when I write about all the food we ate this weekend. Haha!

It was off to bed after the party because it was late already. I actually ended up sleeping at 2 am. Then we had to wake up at 6 am to prepare everybody for breakfast at Bag of Beans, which I will blog about separately too. 🙂

After breakfast we all had to pack so that we can check out by 11 am. We had to check out an hour early because we had lunch reservations at Josephine’s at 11:30 a.m. Yup, we ate A LOT this weekend and it deserves a separate post.

The View

Before we left Taal Vista though, we had a chance to go around a bit and take photos. This one’s the swimming pool. I remember this pool from when we were still kids. I even taught my little cousin to swim here one time. We weren’t able to swim this time though.

Of course, I had to take a photo of this amazing view of the Taal Volcano. It made me reminisce about that time in college when I climbed that volcano along with my other classmates for a science field trip. I’m not really into hiking or trekking but that one was unforgettable.

You can see the Sky Ranch from here. Too bad we weren’t able to go there this time around but it’s okay since we already went to Sky Ranch just a month ago.

Taal Vista12

It was such a short but sweet and really fun trip. I honestly did not want it to end. I loved being able to spend time like that with my hubby’s family. They’re the best. It’s just really too bad that we didn’t get to stay long at Taal Vista. I would have loved to experience all the amenities. Hope we can go again soon.

Have you ever stayed at Taal Vista? What was your experience like? Tell me about it.

  1. Yay you finally got your Taal Vista staycation! Although, it looked like it was more of a Tagaytay food trip than anything, but still, yay for sleeping on an amazing comfy bed! I don’t have a water heater at home too, so I know just what you mean about how luxurious it feels to take a warm shower in a hotel bathroom. Excited that you’re travelling a lot this year! 🙂

    1. Yes finally we were able to go. Haha! And I did love the hot shower. Although now that the weather here in Manila has become hotter again, every shower experience I have not is hot too. Haha!

  2. I love Taal Vista! I remember staying there for a week when I was pregnant with our second. It was a heavenly stay with the cool weather, scrumptious food delivered to my room (I was advised to stay in bed most of my pregnancy kasi due to bleeding), and a beautiful view of Taal Volcano.
