When I started blogging back in 2010, my main purpose was really just to record details of our family’s journey as a new blended family as well as share stories about my third pregnancy. I had just resigned from my full time job and had nothing to else to do besides caring for our house and my family.
However, my desire to still earn a living while staying at home also gave me the push to continue blogging. I found out from my blogger friends that blogging is actually a good way to earn extra income. I had no idea that this little blog of mine will also be the springboard to my new career as a freelance writer and social media professional. Eventually, blogging became so much more to me though. I realized I had the power not only to inform but also to affect and influence people.
I didn’t expect that brands would eventually notice my blog and my growing influence on my readers. It amazes me to think that I can actually be an Influencer or Leader in this digital world of blogging. That comes with a huge responsibility though, one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. So, after I realized that, I became really cautious about what I write here and how I present myself to my readers. I still have a lot to learn about being an effective influencer though so when I found out that there’s actually a course that I can take to learn how to be one, I immediately became interested.
