If there’s one fashion accessory I can’t live without, it would be my watch. I always have to have it on whenever I go out or else my arm would feel naked. I always have to know what time it is because I hate being late and hate being made to hurry. I guess, that’s part of my being OC.

I only have three watches – two of them I’ve had for years while the third is a gift from my hubby for our anniversary a few months ago. All three are silver metal watches. I know, I’m kind of predictable when it comes to this. It’s just that I want to make sure that my watch will go nicely with whatever outfit I choose to wear. It’s kind of expensive to buy several watches in different colors, right?

Well, luckily, if you’re the type who likes changing the colors (or the designs) of your watches, you don’t have to spend so much anymore. Check out SWAP watches.

In May 2013, Tomato released a new concept in the watch industry – a watchline featuring interchangeable silicone straps and water resistant watchfaces. This new watchline is called SWAP. The grand launch was held in the New Activity Center, Glorietta 2.

It has been an exciting year for SWAP! The brand never stops from giving you fun crazy ideas to mix and match your own SWAP combos with your everyday outfits, on different occasions, anytime of the day! It’s SWAP, Your lifestyle!

Isn’t it neat? With the SWAP watch, changing watch styles has become easier.

I wanted to give it a try so I was so excited that I was invited to attend the launch of their brand new offering last August 7 at the Tomato, Glorietta 2 branch.

Tomato has launched the SWAP DIY (Design-It-Yourself)!  This feature allows anyone to have their personal design or photo turned into a SWAP Watch for only Php 1000! You can already have your personalized SWAP watch and pair it with your choice of strap color. So cool!

Here are some of the SWAP DIY designs. But trust me, there are lots of other possible combinations.

During the event, we were given a chance to have our own SWAP DIY watches done. It took me a lot of time to decide what type of design I wanted for the face of the watch and what color strap to pair it with. There were just so many choices. Just look at all these cool colors.

Initially, I wanted to choose a ready-made design for the face but after I saw a lot of people choosing their own photos instead, I decided to do the same. Haha! I looked through the photos I have on my phone and thankfully, I found a nice one that has all my three kids. Of course, I chose a purple shade, called Orchid, for the strap. I wasn’t able to wait for my watch to be finished that day but the people at Tomato were nice enough to mail it to me several days later. This is how it turned out. So cute, right! My kids love it.

However, for those who want further customization, you’d be happy to know that you can also create your own strap with loom bands. Yup, that’s right!

With SWAP Loom you can create your own rainbow loom strap with your designed pattern:  flipside, crisscross, pentalock, or whatever design you can. For only Php 350, you can avail these SWAP straps ready for looming. There was actually a table at the event wherein people could design their own loom band watch straps. While I’m not so crazy about loom bands, I have to admit that they do look cute. For sure, a lot of people would be into this.

As for me, I’m pretty happy with my SWAP DIY watch. I’ll be looking at it whenever I’m somewhere alone and missing my kids. And if I’m not in the mood to wear a purple watch, I can always buy a new strap! Oh and by the way, the straps are actually water resistant and so are the faces (3 ATM).

For those of you who are interested to know more about SWAP Watches or would like to order, they’re available exclusively at Tomato online via shop.tomato.ph/time/swap/DIY.
