I have a confession to make. As much as I love collecting and reading books, I also love watching TV. In fact, I need at least an hour of TV time each night to help keep me sane.
Just like books, TV helps keep my mind off household chores, parenting and work duties, even for just a while. I need a break too, you know! While there are books that are so well-written that you can easily imagine the scenes in your head, sometimes you just want to see them with your eyes. Every night I relax by spending an hour on the couch or the bed, with hot tea in my hand, and the TV showing my latest favorite series.
I have a lot of favorite TV series. However, I have not heard of Under the Dome until I got an invitation to attend the launch of its second season last week. What got me intrigued with this science fiction drama is the fact that it was based on a Stephen King bestselling novel. How can one go wrong with that?
Under the Dome is about Chester’s Mill, a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome. It stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy and Aisha Hinds.
The plot is exciting enough already. So, I was really anticipating being able to watch the actual show.
The launch took place last July 30, 2014, at MyCinema in Greenbelt 3. We were given an opportunity to watch a special feature of the highlights from the first season including new interviews from the cast and executive producers. So, even if I wasn’t able to watch the first season, I was able to understand already what happened and that helped a lot during the next part when we were shown the first episode of season 2. On August 27 at 9:55PM on RTL CBS Entertainment HD, viewers will be able to see the same exciting one hour feature too.
Viewers can catch the second season of Under The Dome when it premiers on September 3 on RTL CBS Entertainment HD with “Heads Will Roll.”
In this episode, Barbie’s fate lies in Big Jim’s hands, and the Dome presents a new threat when it becomes magnetized.
Meanwhile, Julia seeks out the help of a stranger to save the life of a mysterious girl who may hold clues to origin of the Dome.
The premiere episode was written by bestselling author and executive producer Stephen King, who also makes a cameo appearance, and was filmed on location in Wilmington, N.C. Eddie Cahill and Karla Crome join the cast as series regulars.
UNDER THE DOME airs every Wednesday, 9:55PM. Only on RTL CBS Entertainment HD. I’m seriously hooked on this show and I really, really want to watch the entire Season 1 before Season 2 starts airing. Even if I’ve only seen an episode I love it already because it’s full of mystery and romance, it’s exciting and has lots of twists and turns that will keep viewers on their toes.
To see why I love this show, do watch this Season 2 official trailer.
