On My Blogapalooza 2014 Experience

Last year, I had a pretty successful first experience with Blogapalooza. As a matter of fact, I’m still in contact with some of the brands I chose to partner with since that time. So, I was really excited to join Blogapalooza again this year.

Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, the original date of Blogapalooza was moved. Much to my dismay, they moved it on the same day that I was already scheduled to attend the Feature Writing 101 workshop with Writer’s Block Philippines.

The good thing though, was that the venues of these two events were just very near each other. So, I decided to go to both. But since the workshop (which I paid for) took place the entire afternoon, I only had about an hour and a half in the morning to visit Blogapalooza.

Still I went and just decided to make the most out of it. I was only able to visit some of the booths so I was disappointed with that. But let me share them with you nevertheless.

The first booth I visited was the Brain Fit Studio booth. As a mom, I love partnering with brands I can relate to and Brain Fit is definitely something that could personally help me with my kids.

I was asked to post this photo on Instagram to win a copy of that book called, Fit Brains Learn Better. As you know, I love books and so I did what was asked.

I have yet to read the book at this point but I have browsed it already and it looks really interesting and packed with useful information. Brain Fit Studio is definitely one brand I want to explore working with.

I also visited the Crocs booth because our family loves their footwear, especially the kids. I saw this hot pink shoes and fell in love with them.

Then I visited the Canon booth with my friend, Millie.

I’m really looking forward to partnering with Canon because I’m such a photography enthusiast. Unfortunately, our digicam is now busted and so I don’t have anything to use to take decent photos. I’m hoping we’ll be able to purchase a new digicam soon.

Millie and I took advantage of the Canon photo booth and had our photo taken together.

Then, off I went to visit the Ace Water Spa booth. I’ve always wanted to try out their services so I’m excited to explore a partnership with them as well.

Aside from the Brain Fit Studio booth, this is the only other booth wherein I was able to try out a game, because I was in such a hurry. I was supposed to have won a notepad but was given a mug instead, which was totally fine with me.

I also explored the Acer booth. I was surprised to find out that Acer now has smartphones and tablets too because prior to the event I only knew of the brand as a computer supplier. I’d really love to know more about their smartphones because I’m on the market for a new one now. I’m no longer happy with my current phone and would love a new one that performs better.

There was a photo booth at the Acer booth too and I was asked to pose and have my photo there. I was alone that time and was kinda self-conscious. But….. okay. Haha!

I went to the Krispy Kreme booth too.

But unfortunately their make-your-own-donut activity was scheduled for the afternoon and so I wasn’t able to take part in it.

Aside from these, I was also able to visit Fukuda, Bioessence, Ideal Vision, Dr. Kong and the Ampalaya Plus Delite Herbal Tea booths. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to take photos of their booths because I had to go at a certain time.

I was able to spend a few minutes with my blogger friends though.

It was just unfortunate that I really wasn’t able to spend that much time with them.

I was also able to meet some members of Mommy Bloggers Philippines, wherein I’m also a member. I only have one photo of them though but I could no longer find the one that they posted on Facebook so I couldn’t borrow it for posting here. Oh well!

Compared to last year, I can say I was definitely not able to maximize the event this year. I wasn’t able to visit a lot of booths that I wanted to visit. But what helped me in this case was that I brought calling cards with me so that it was easier to leave my contact info with the brands. Some of them insisted that I still sign up on their registration sheets though.

I also noticed that compared to last year, there were fewer food booths last year. So, next year, I have to remember to eat first before going to the event. I ended up eating just a slice of Yellow Cab pizza from their booth before I hurriedly left to attend my workshop.

I was also not able to hear the talks or enjoy the performances. But it was still a good experience despite the fact that I was in such a hurry. I hope next year would be better for me though.

It’s too bad you didn’t get to stay longer. For me though it seems to be a tie. The brands were better this year but the engagement and activities were better last year.

Aaah kaya pala. Well, I think the workshop you went to was worth sacrificing half the day of this year’s Blogapalooza. There’ll always be next year, besides, you seem to have things going for you lately, so not much of a loss there. 🙂
