Flip to Work and Play With The Asus VivoBook Flip!

As a freelance writer, I consider myself a businesswoman. I’ve yet to register my services officially as a business but that’s eventually what my goal is.

The event took place at the Event Center of Century City Mall in Makati last June 2, 2016. The speaker that day was no less than one of the owners of Mercato Centrale, RJ Ledesma, who talked about Finding the Right Recipe For a Successful Start-Up Business.

In his talk RJ shared that there are basically four (4) Ingredients for Entrepreneurship: Part Smarts, Part Hustle, Part Balls and Part Luck / Timing.

Ingredient 1: A Cup of Vision and Ambition

RJ says that a business endeavor can start with what you are passionate about. So find out what that is! He also said though that “Entrepreneurship is all about your irritation” and that your inspiration for your business can come from your “pain points” or the things that irritate you.

Ingredient 2: A Teaspoon of Self and Industry Awareness

Apparently, the story of Mercato’s success was not easy. According to RJ, there were a lot of established competitors who were bigger when they started as well as a lot of copycats. However, it still pays to know yourself well and at the same time be aware of what’s happening in the industry because it will guide you in making the right decisions.

Ingredient 3: A Dash of Innovation

Here he shared the importance of Pivot. As an example, RJ shared how he and his team decided to shift Mercato from a morning market to a night market because they believed that making that change would help them be more successful. And they were right!

Ingredient 4: A Generous Serving of Hard Work and Dedication

At the end of the day, RJ says that hard work is all about hustle. A business will not be successful unless you really put your heart and soul in it.

RJ also shares though that technology has played a huge part in not only the success of his business but also in his personal life. He’s a dad and husband too, plus he has other “rakets” as well. Technology has enabled him to balance all that well. Specifically, RJ shares that the “VivoBook has really been one of my secret weapons.
