Prayers for Japan

A while ago, I was busy blogging when my hubby suddenly called from the living room asking me to come and see what he was watching. It turns out he was watching the news about the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan this afternoon and the tsunami that hit the shores after. 

Seeing the videos of the devastation was very chilling. They made every hair on my body stand on end. Everything that the tsunami waters hit were dragged away. We even saw one car desperately trying to get away from the water that was coming fast towards it. Having friends who live and work in Japan, I became immediately worried. At this point, one of my friends there has already made contact via Facebook saying that he’s fine but that the aftershocks still haven’t stopped and so they’re asking for prayers that they’ll be able to get through the ordeal fine. I fervently hope and pray that they will be okay. I am urging everyone to pray with me for their safety.

Here in the Philippines, a tsunami alert #2 has already been raised in 19 provinces. Though my family and I live far from these areas, I still worry about people I know who live in these provinces. Let’s all hope and pray that no tsunami will come but that for their safety, I hope everybody will be evacuated to safe areas soon. 

I don’t know why a lot of devastations have been happening in the world lately. Sometimes you can’t help but be paranoid. It led me to think of how difficult it would be if something like that happened to us here. I have three children and I want to spare them from such horror. But I guess, all we can do is pray and be prepared for anything.
