I can’t believe that Ziggy is almost 2 months old already. Time flies by so fast! Here are his Week 7 photos. The highlights of the week includes Ziggy’s 2nd visit to his pediatrician last Wednesday, wherein we found out that he now weighs 5.5 kilos!!! He only weighed 3 kilos a month ago and my pediatrician’s target for me was to have Ziggy gain weight of 1 kilo a month only. Well, Ziggy has a very big appetite! What can I do?
Ziggy’s pediatrician actually made a few more assignments for me to do. Aside from the usual physical exercises of rolling his arms in and out and pulling his legs in and out 3 TIMES a day, ย I also have to really show him his black, red and while flashcard, which Kai has yet to redo. His first one got lost. The flashcard will supposedly help Ziggy focus his eyes and prepare him for MORE exercises. The additional things I need to do are:
  1. Show him clapping of hands
  2. Tell him “Good Job” whenever he accomplishes something such as his exercises
  3. Count my fingers from 1 to ten in front of his face
  4. Show him additional flashcards. This time these will be flashcards with a photo in front and the name of the photo at the back. This will supposedly help him read early.
Whew! I’m tired just thinking about what I have to do for him on a daily basis, aside from the feeding, bathing, diaper changing, etc etc etc. The pediatrician also said we should continue with his daily vitamins but she recommended we change Ziggy’s formula since it may be the cause of his colic. His new formula has hydrolized whey protein, which is easier on the tummy (more on this on a later post). I must say that it works! Thank goodness. Ziggy’s not cranky anymore, which is so good for my sanity.
Aside from the fact that he’s bigger and longer now, Ziggy has also started “making conversations” and it’s really so cute! His sisters cannot stop hugging and kissing him and can’t wait to interact with him more. He also smiles and laughs more often, especially in the early morning. It really makes my heart melt. Maybe it’s his way of saying “sorry I didn’t let you sleep much again tonight, Mommy”.ย
