Spread the love

I’ve always stressed the importance of reading and I have instilled a love for the written word to my daughters, Zoe and Ziya, since they were little. So, of course, it’s no wonder that we’re starting early with Ziggy too.
Even though he’s only 5 weeks old, Ziggy already has a couple of books on his bookshelf but they’re actually hand-me-downs from his older sisters. We wanted to buy some new ones for him though. The other day, when we were in the mall, we passed by Book Sale and decided to take a look if they have baby books on sale and they did. There were actually tons to choose from but for now, we decided on these two.
I’ve always wanted to learn how to teach baby signs to Ziggy. So this book, Wow First Words, is really a good way to start. This board book has really cute illustrations that teach you how to sign for “Mommy”, “Daddy”, “play”, “cuddle”, and “I love you”.

The second book, Tickle Tickle, is also a board book that tells about the fun and love that a baby feels when he’s being tickled. It also gives you a glimpse into a Dad’s love for his kid. This nicely illustrated book reminds me of Ziggy’s bond with his Daddy.

Another great book is one called Peek a Boo. It has photographs of babies making various facial expressions with the corresponding word for the emotion expressed. My kids absolutely love the book.
