We have a lot of errands/activities to do this weekend and one of the most important ones involve finding a kiddie salon so that Ziggy can have his first haircut. He’s about to turn 1 in three days and his party is going to be next weekend so of course, we wanted him to look SUPER CUTE. Hahaha!
SO, we went to the mall today – actually, two malls. The first one we went to didn’t have a kiddie salon. My hubby actually considered a barber shop instead but I vehemently disagreed. We went to the barber shop anyway and there he finally changed his mind (hehehe!). We had to go to another mall nearby and thankfully, we found a kiddie salon there. It’s definitely the better option because the chairs are actually toy cars and there’s a TV in front wherein the kids can watch cartoons while they’re getting their hair cut. There were also other toys and books lying around, which can be used to distract the kids so that their haircut can be properly done. However, since it’s the weekend, there were a lot of kids and babies already waiting to take their turn. We had to wait for like 15 – 20 minutes before they could get to Ziggy.
Anyway, I was so excited! Of course, this is another milestone for Ziggy. I was very worried that he might cry because there are times when he gets easily irritated. Having a stranger suddenly tinkering with his hair might just be scary but I am so proud to say that he didn’t cry at all. As you can see below, he just totally loved the toy car he was sitting in. He was actually  “conversing” and laughing with the person cutting his hair. Since he would turn his head from the side to side, Kai and I had to turn his attention back to the cartoon or to his car. Aside from that though, the entire experience was a breeze!
Of course, being the sentimental mom that I am, I kept the first lock of hair that was cut plus I took before and after photos. His hair wasn’t very long to begin with, especially the top part. However, the sides were already too long and was bothering Ziggy already because it kept poking inside his ear. So, basically all we had done was to even out everything.
So adorable!!!!!! Congratulations on your first haircut, my darling baby boy. You make mommy and daddy proud.
