Spread the love

The past week and a half has been very dreary and depressing. Sure, I love the rain but not THIS MUCH rain! The weather has been totally crazy. The monsoon rains brought about so much havoc to most of Luzon and a lot of people lost their belongings and homes. There were even some who have lost their lives. To think it was just monsoon rains and not a typhoon that did all this is unbelievable.
During times like this, it’s so easy to feel down and hopeless. I have been feeling so sad as well. My family is  lucky to have been spared from any loss because of the heavy downpour but seeing all those people in the news who have been evacuated can make one feel totally depressed. Some of those people are friends of mine. However, it helps to know that this won’t last forever and that the rains will eventually stop. Actually, it’s just so timely that as I am writing this, the sun has actually started to shine and I was able to take this photo.
This just goes to show that indeed, there is always sunshine after the rain. Just because a calamity has happened doesn’t mean we can only sit, watch and do nothing. We all can do something to help out in our own little ways.
It makes my heart swell to see people actually doing their part to help donate or prepare relief goods to the evacuees. My Twitter and Facebook feeds are also full of people eager to disseminate information on how to find loved ones who are lost or need to be rescued. People have also shared ways on how to donate or volunteer. Truly, nothing can dampen the Filipino spirit. The Filipino spirit is definitely waterproof!
