Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of having breakfast at Acacia Hotel Manila in Alabang with two of my closest WAHM/blogger friends, Patty and Millie. We had been planning a mom’s day out for over a month now and so we were really excited. The fact that we were invited to partake of the breakfast buffet at the hotel’s restaurant, Acaci, was a bonus!
It was my first time at Acacia Hotel but I’ve passed by it several times already since it was being constructed. Although I wasn’t able to tour the whole place, I really liked what I saw. It really did look and feel like a 5-star luxury hotel with its interesting, modern design. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. No wonder they are the 2014 Traveler’s Choice Winner on Trip Advisor.
It wasn’t anymore a surprise to learn that the hotel is managed by Enderun Colleges, which is the country’s leading hotel & restaurant management institution. I must explore the hotel some more next time!
It was a great pleasure to dine in Acaci not only because of the food but also because of the view. The area is surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass windows that allows sunshine to illuminate the place and gives diners a great view of the bustling streets outside. But of course, the highlight of this place is the food.
Acaci’s breakfast buffet offers a variety of international and Asian dishes. There are all sorts of bread, rice and viands, Filipino food (danggit, tapa, tocino, etc), and even Japanese food such as sushi! Kids would also love the assortment of cereals and pancakes, not to mention the yummy desserts!
Here’s a peek at the food that I was able to try. I wasn’t able to try a lot because the food I got were already very filling. But I assure you there were so many choices.
Of course, I had to get sushi. I also had some pork loin, fish fillet, buttered vegetables and fried rice.
I was already full after finishing my first plate of food plus some coffee and blackcurrant juice. But the bacon and ham just looked too appetizing to resist.
Dessert is a must-have of course. I especially loved the bread pudding.
The staff also surprised us by suddenly coming to our table to sing a birthday song to Patty and presenting her with super yummy chocolate cake. Patty was a little embarrassed but appreciated the sweet gesture just the same. Haha!
Anyway, I loved everything I ate. If the breakfast buffet was awesome, what more the lunch and dinner buffets, right? The chef and restaurant staff are really doing a great job and I’m looking forward to experiencing more of their meals in the future.
But, what if your kids can teach you some of this stuff at home? Yes, they can if you enroll them at Acacia Hotel Manila’s Junior Chef workshop this summer.
