I’ve always been vocal about my love for reading and the fact that I’ve been trying to pass on this passion of mine to my kids. So far, I think I’m already quite successful judging by the number of books already piling up on my kids’ bookshelves. It’s also such a thrill to see them get so excited whenever I announce that we are going to the bookstore to buy new books.
My goal now though, is to sustain that passion for reading and learning. So I’m always on the look out for things that will help me do just that. Luckily, I was invited to attend the upcoming seminar-workshop for both teachers and parents that aims to revisit the value of books, to reignite the love for reading, and to teach them how to do these both at home and in school.
The event is called READING REVOLUTION: Hacking Restless Readers in Today’s World by Cokid.org. It will be held on May 17, 2014 at 9:00am to 5:00pm at Alphaland, Makati. Participants can expect to find illustrated talks about reading & storytelling by amazing speakers! Plus, fun workshops sharing effective tools & tricks that can easily be recreated!
