I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. So, growing up, I knew that someday I will either inherit the family business or build one of my own. However, not all entrepreneurs become successful. Not all businesses flourish, sometimes because one doesn’t possess the necessary skills in order to make an entrepreneurship endeavor a success.

I really believe that entrepreneurial skills are best developed as early as possible. I believe that even kids can be entrepreneurs, given the proper guidance and assistance from their parents of course. This is definitely something I try to teach my girls as early as now. So, it makes me happy to support this upcoming bazaar, called Kiddo-preneur Summer Bazaar 2014, that promotes entrepreneurship and teaches kids how to be successful entrepreneurs.

Here’s more information about the event.

On Saturday, May 31st, over a hundred children between the ages of 4-17 will launch their very own businesses. Some of them, seasoned Kiddo-preneurs, have been participating in the bazaar since it was established in 2011.

Kiddo-preneur, the first of itโ€™s kind in the country, is a bazaar where all the sellers are children. The first bazaar was held at The Rockwell Club in Makati in December of 2011. Every year since then, Kiddo-preneur has held events aimed at increasing the level of financial literacy in the country and encouraging children to become entrepreneurs.

Kiddo-preneur believes that the values of entrepreneurship and hard work, should be instilled in children early on so that more and more of them grow up wanting to become entrepreneurs in the future.

The Kiddo-preneur Summer Bazaar, which will be held at The Atrium of Robinsons Place Manila, will run from 10am-6pm. Please come and support these bite sized entrepreneurs and their big ideas!

  1. I so agree! Not all people who venture into business become successful because we lack certain skills we need to make it in the industry.

I’ve had my hand in a couple of small businesses in the past, and while I was determined and persevering, I had no clue on what to do business-wise.

Now that I know better, I intend to teach my children everything I’ve learned and know….and perhaps start another one soon. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for sharing regarding kiddo-preneurs. Something that’s definitely worth looking into.

    1. Hahaha, Cheryl, I suppose that will depend on the child and how well he or she has been trained by his or her parents. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m sure the kids participating will still have some assistance from their parents in one way or another. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I don’t think that I have it in me to be an entrepreneur. I would love to expose Tristan early to the idea of having his own business, though. Never too early to start. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. This is really nice event for kids, I also wanted to be an entrepreneur, I tried some online and offline business before but I can’t say that I’m an entrepreneur already. I tried bazaars with friends last December but bazaars are seasonal.

  6. Great event to encourage kids in becoming entrepreneurs! I used to sell gummy bears from the US to my neighbors when I was little by packing a few pieces into small plastic bags then I’d sell it for P10.00! I’ve been business minded since then!
