I love to shop for my kids and one of the things I love to buy them is clothes. As a mom, I always look for good quality and comfortable clothes but of course, because I want my kids to also look good, I try to choose stylish ones as well.

One of the clothing brands I find really stylish is ELLE. The brand actually celebrated its 70th year here in the Philippines last September 19 at the Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall and I was fortunate enough to have been invited.

The celebration was a chic fashion event that highlighted the legacy of ELLE for women and kids and showcased their iconic styles over the last seven decades along with the most vogue styles of today.

The fashion fete was hosted by Nicole Andersson and featured an array of activities such as the ELLE Exhibit, with prominent issues of the magazine together with the Kids and Juniors collections on display; and experiential areas where participants got to decorate their own shirts and shoes, take Instagram photos for printing as souvenirs, and learn more interesting trivia about the beloved brand.

Celebrity stylist Alyanna Martinez also came out to give tips to parents and kids on appropriate and stylish dressing, particularly for the anticipated Fall/Winter season.

Of course, what’s a fashion event without a fashion show, right?

Models rocked the catwalk that day with the limited edition “7 Decades, 7 Dresses” headlining the show featuring new frocks that mark each of the brand’s 7 decades. The featured styles include the feminine Flower dress of the 1940s, the sweet Gingham dress of the 50s, 1960s’ signature MOD dress, the Ascot dress of the 70s, the Zip dress so reminiscent of the 80s, 1990s’ minimalist Asymmetrical dress, to the current decade’s modern dress.

There was also a travel segment that launched the ELLE luggage line featuring an array of soft and hard shell luggage in red, black, hot pink and copper colors, now available in the country.

Young fashionistas also took over the runway to show off the Juniors and Kids F/W collections. This, of course, was my favorite part of the show because the kids were just so adorable!

Girls are all set to be the belles of the ball, with flowing, delicate dresses, metallic knits, couture- style suits, tutus and sparkling skirts. Touches of gold, red and silver, plus luxe embellishments like quilting, embroidery and sequins further elevated the collection’s sophistication. The boys weren’t left behind, fashion-wise, of course, with trendy bottoms, and cheerful, graphic tops fit for the festive holidays.

It was such a super chic event. I can’t wait to browse their current selections for a nice Christmas outfit for my son! ELLE Kids, by the way, is available at all leading department stores nationwide and at the Ogalala Store at the East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza.
