One of my breastfeeding must-haves is nursing wear. While breastfeeding moms don’t necessarily have to wear them, I find that wearing nursing clothes makes feeding my baby easier for me. So, for the past 6 months that I’ve been breastfeeding, I’ve been continuously looking for new brands of nursing clothes to try. One of my most recent finds is Kaypee Baby.

Kaypee Baby is the brainchild of a fellow breastfeeding mom, who understands the need to make breastfeeding in public a very pleasant experience. You can find her store online at www.kaypeebaby.com. She sells nursing tops, dresses and covers as well as maternity clothes and clothes for little boys and girls.

A few weeks ago, Kaypee Baby sent over one of their nursing tops for me to try and review on this blog. I received their Patie Blouse – Black Rhythm 2 in Round Petals design.

The description says it was a free size top that fits small to semi-large sizes. The fabric used was called Waffle.

This top has 2 nursing access, one on each side and it looks like this.

Now, let me tell you my thoughts about this Patie Blouse.

Color

I’m not into very bright colors. So, the fact that this blouse came in black and white appeals to me. I can pair it with any color of shorts, skirt or pants. This particular design, I believe, comes in plain and other types of prints and colors. So, you’re free to choose which one you like best.

Fabric

The fabric is thin, very light and airy. I think this works well with the weather here in this country especially during the summer season. I’m just not a big fan of the texture of the Waffle fabric. It’s not smooth, which is usually my preference. Instead, it has grooves, which made me immediately think it might be itchy when worn. Thankfully, I didn’t itch at all when I wore it though.

Design

Honestly, I’m not a fan of big prints. Most of my clothes are just solids in different colors. If I choose a printed one, the prints have to be small or medium size. With that said, I find the floral Black Rhythm design of this top just okay for me. But this is just a matter of preference. If given the choice, I would have chosen a plain one instead.

Fit

As you can see on the photo below, the top did fit me. The measurements on the top portion of the blouse was just right for my figure. However, because the bottom part is slightly tapered, I find that it hugged my waist and hips quite snugly, which is not really what I prefer. Because I gave birth only 6 months ago, I still have that baby belly. I would prefer a looser style at the bottom so as to hide my tummy a bit. This would probably fit better on someone who has a smaller waistline and hips.

Nursing Access

I like that the nursing access is easy to pull to the side. This is especially helpful to me because I have a demanding baby boy who usually wants to be fed RIGHT NOW. There’s no need to remove buttons or to pull aside so much excess cloth. Plus, even without a nursing cover you can nurse discreetly because it doesn’t expose too much of the breast. That is, unless your baby decides to pull your top too much.

Price

The selling price for this top is only Php 185.00. Yup, you read that right. It’s less than Php 200.00, which is a lot less than what a lot of other nursing wear brands charge. Even when you add in the shipping cost of Php 70.00 for Metro Manila, it still comes out cheaper than other brands.

Overall, I did like the Patie Blouse because it serves it’s purpose quite effectively. I love that it does the job well for only a fraction of the cost of other brands. If you’re planning to buy a lot of nursing wear but have a minimal budget, then you’d definitely get more bang for your buck when you shop at Kaypee Baby. I would not hesitate to purchase from them but will make sure to choose a straighter cut and a design that will fit me better.

  1. Wow. That’s a steal! I will need nursing blouses, too, by the time I’ve given birth. That will be on May 2017. Though I am a WAHM, there are times we go out of house pa rin naman especially on weekends kaya dapat may nursing blouse ako. That would be a good investment and will give me and my little girl the convenience we need during feeding time. Thanks for introducing Kaypee Baby Nursing Wear! 🙂

  11. I’m amazed at the number of products available now to preggy and nursing moms! I wish nursing blouses were also available 10-13 years ago, when I gave birth to my daughters. To be able to buy one for less than PHP200 is also such a steal! 🙂

  12. Design-wise, I’m not into it but the price is very practical. Had I known about a shop like this when I was pregnant with my kiddos, I think I would’ve bought a few to use. But then again, I didn’t buy any nursing wear back then. I used blouses that were easy to bring up and make the most of my nursing bibs, I had quite a lot, and they cover all around me, not just the front. I had the one you just pull over your head instead of tying.

  13. Wow. A really affordable nursing top! I loved the design and I thank you blog for sharing this to nursing mothers like me. ?

  14. Oh thats super affordable. When I was nursing my boys the cheapest I found were P500+. Looks nice too. I like that it doesn’t shout “nursing mama” with ita color and feel.
