Last weekend, we went on our second family road trip for the year, this time to Subic. This time though, it wasn’t just us. Some of hubby’s relatives from the U.S. came home for a visit so of course that means a lot of touring around. Since there were a lot of us, we opted to rent houses in Subic instead of staying in a hotel. So, we decided to stay in Subic Homes where there were a lot of Vacation Villas for rent.
The Subic Homes Clubhouse
So, off we left Manila at 6 a.m. on Saturday. We arrived in Subic way too early for check in. Luckily, even if we hadn’t checked in yet, we were already allowed to use the amenities at the Subic Homes clubhouse. The kids of course, chose to swim, accompanied by the hubby, while my sister-in-law and I just (tried) to relax while watching and taking photos of them. I also enjoyed the free WiFi connection. Haha!
I wasn’t able to take photos inside the clubhouse though but its facilities include function rooms, playground, basketball court and even a place to watch TV at the reception area.
The Vacation Villa
After two hours of swimming, we finally checked in. We rented two houses that are right beside each other. They look like this from the outside.
It has two-storeys and a garage, which can fit two vehicles. They’re really big and suitable for families or big barkadas.
The ground floor consists of very spacious living room and dining room areas, a modern kitchen with a breakfast nook, a full bathroom, and a maid’s room with it’s own bathroom. The entire ground floor has centralized air conditioning too. The living room is fully furnished and comes with a 32” LCD TV and cable. A DVD player is available upon request.
The dining room is likewise fully furnished with a dining table that can fit 6, complete with plates, glasses and cutlery.
The kitchen is complete with cooking utensils, refrigerator/freezer, electric range, microwave oven, and rice cooker. You can even request for a coffee maker or toaster.
You’ll find three bedrooms at the second floor, complete with pillows, beddings and towels. The Masters bedroom has 1 queen sized bed, a TV and its own bathroom. Another bedroom has 2 single beds, while the third bedroom has 1 double bed. There’s also another full bathroom to be shared by the two rooms.
I wasn’t able to take photos of the Masters bedroom, where my mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and her two kids stayed (Yup, the room is big. They just needed to get an extra bed.). But here’s the room that hubby, Ziggy and I shared.
Since our room was located at the front part of the house, we got this view of the street.
This is the bedroom that Zoe and Ziya shared. This is bigger than their room at our house so they were really happy with this.
This is what the upstairs bathroom looks like. All bathrooms come with complimentary soap, shampoo and shower gel.
We only stayed overnight but we really enjoyed this place and wish we could have stayed longer. The place was surrounded by trees and is really serene. I can just imagine how nice it must be to place some tree straps and carabiners on one of them to hold a hammock. It’s exactly what you will need to have some rest and relaxation. You can even have barbecue and use the grill that is provided for already at the backyard.
Oh, and you’ll have to watch out for monkeys though. Apparently, it’s common there for monkeys to come down from the mountains to raid the residents’ trash. We were really looking out for some and we finally saw one just as we were leaving the place on Sunday! The kids were elated!
I definitely recommend this place. Try it out when you’re in Subic. For more information about Subic Homes, visit www.subichomes.com or their Facebook page.
We’ve never tried booking a stay at Subic homes. My cousins and I were actually looking for a place where our whole family can stay (there are 35 of us!), and it looks like this might be a good option for us. 🙂
Patty, it’s a really good option for big families. 🙂 I think they have larger villas too. You might want to check that out. 🙂

We usually just stay in a hotel when we go to Subic since it’s just hubby, the two little ones and I. But if we do decide to go here with a bigger group, I will definitely recommend this! It looks very homey!

We haven’t tried staying in anywhere yet because the little one is just simply too young to appreciate those stuff, but if in case we will, in the future, I will definitely check this out. Indeed looks homey. 🙂
Wow, Janice! What an inviting place to stay. I’ll surely bookmark this for future reference. It looks nice and ‘homey’. Hehe. I miss Subic already!
We haven’t tried booking a house instead of at a resort! How much was the rent?

The rent for the house we stayed at was around Php 9,000. Not bad if you’re gonna share the place with another family, for example. Plus, it already includes the amenities. There are also other villas that are smaller and have fewer bedrooms if that’s what you’ll need. 🙂

The monkeys in Subic! Classic. We spotted them when we drove out to Ocean Adventure with the kids during our last trip to Subic. Thanks for sharing your experience with Subic Homes. How are the rates though?

Our kids definitely had a ball seeing that one monkey. Haha! I’m not so sure about the rates of the other villas (they have smaller and bigger ones). But the one we stayed at costs around Php 9,000. 🙂

Looks pretty neat! My husband’s family has this membership at Fontana in Clark so we stay there most of the time and Subic is just a cartwheel away. 🙂
