We have been anticipating this event for over a year. Finally, my friend, Carina, and her now husband, Lui, tied the knot last Dec. 4 at the Chapel on the Hill in Batulao, Batangas. Being pregnant, I was unable to be part of the entourage.  So, the job of reading the First Reading during the wedding rites fell on my lap. However, during the day itself, those assigned to read the Responsorial Psalm, Second Reading and Prayers of the Faithful did not arrive (and did not give advance notice!). So, guess who ended up reading those as well? Me, of course!
Kai also attended and had the privilege of standing in as a proxy of one of the Ninongs. Here’s Kai signing as a Ninong after the wedding rites.
Here’s Carina and Lui sharing a kiss as they walked out of the Chapel.
The reception was held at the Nurture Spa in Tagaytay. It was my first time there and I was really excited to go. The place was a nice venue to hold a garden themed wedding. Unfortunately, we were unable to explore the place afterwards since it was already past 9 p.m. when the reception ended and we were so tired already by then. We will definitely go back there for some much needed R&R.
Overall, it was a fun event spent with close friends. I missed spending time with Carina and Lui as well as Darla and JJ, so it was a real treat to see them again.

It was also great to be able to go out of town with just me and Kai. It has been a long time since we did that. For sure, it will take a long while before we can do it again since our baby will be coming soon. So, we really enjoyed our alone time. We went to Tagaytay not knowing exactly where we were going to stay overnight. Luckily, we chanced upon the New Orleans Auberge Hotel near the Rotonda. The place is nice and new. Apparently, they opened only some time last year. They have both air conditioned and fan rooms. The rates range from Php 1,300 to Php 4,400 per night depending on the room. Kai and I liked it there. The place was clean and affordable and the staff was friendly.  We plan to visit again next time. For more information about the place, click here.
