Rodliz’s Nest
I know this post is a little bit delayed already but I have just discovered Couple’s Corner by Rodliz Nest. So, I thought of joining. So, what if it’s a bit cheesy? It’s February, anyway.

Okay, so let me talk about my first kilig/sweet moment with Kai. It was on the day we met. It was during the first Friday of May 2008. I was out with my friends, Darla and Francis. We were supposed to go out dancing but Francis was a bit late and so Darla and I decided to hang out at Starbucks while waiting. We were just there when a guy friend of Darla’s texted her and asked where she was. She replied to the guy, Mark, and said that she was out with friends and asked him if he wanted to join us. Mark said yes and that he would be bringing another friend of his, who turned out to be Kai. So, yes, Kai and I first met in a Starbucks. 😀

While waiting for Francis, the four of us spent some time in a bar, just chatting with each other and that’s when I started to really notice Kai. He was sitting right across from me, not talking much, which was exactly what I was doing too. Turns out we’re both the quiet type, preferring to listen more than to talk. A couple of times, I would catch him trying to discreetly look at me and we would lock eyes and I knew right then and there that there was definitely a spark. We eventually moved to the club that Darla, Francis and I planned to go to and danced the night away.

It was a super fun night that turned out to be the night that will change my life forever. I knew as I was dancing with Kai that I liked being close to him. It just felt comfortable and just so right. It was as if we’ve known each other forever (and he actually says the same thing). We all left the club at around 4 a.m. already and I remember thinking how much I still wanted to spend time with him as I watched him walk towards his car. Little did I know that he felt the same way. Only a few minutes later, he texted me. Turns out he asked Darla for my number. He told me he had fun and was glad to have met me and that maybe we should hang out some time. Our first date happened about a week after that. The rest, as they say, is history.

I like looking back at that night and marvel at how things just fell into place. I wasn’t really expecting to meet somebody but I did. I wasn’t expecting it to be this good, but it is. I guess, it’s just fate and that I’m just lucky.
