October is World Babywearing Month and so I didn’t want to let this month pass by without writing about our babywearing experience. Ziggy’s almost 20 months old now and so we have been babywearing less. I actually don’t remember the last time I wore him. I still usually keep a baby carrier in our diaper bag just in case we’ll need it.
Ziggy’s so active now, preferring to walk and run instead of being carried most of the time. While that keeps us “hands-free”, the experience is still nerve-wracking to me because I usually get scared of him tripping and falling. I miss babywearing, not just for the hands-free benefit but mostly for the bonding experience it gives me and Ziggy. Wearing him just makes me feel more secure in the fact that he’s in my arms, safe and sound.
Anyway, allow me this opportunity to go back down memory lane with some photos of our babywearing journey.
Here’s our first babywearing photo taken at home. Hubby bought me a Saya carrier, which I super love, around the time that Ziggy turned 1 month old. Ziggy loves sleeping in the Saya.

In this photo below, we were at the mall running errands. I never left the house without my Saya. It just makes getting around with a baby so much easier.
Here, we took the kids Easter egg hunting in Nuvali. It was Ziggy’s first Easter and first trip out of town. He slept almost the whole time. Haha!

Here we were at the World Trade Center for the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Graduation Bash. Zoe and Ziya both joined the Kiddie Crew that summer.
The photo below is the last one taken of me babywearing Ziggy, although this was not the last time I wore him. This was taken in SM Hypermarket at the Mall of Asia where we did the groceries that time. Here I’m using the Blissfulbabes pouch that I won at the Babywearing Meet we attended several months back.

Lastly, here’s a photo of my hubby babywearing Ziggy. He uses a hand-me-down carrier to carry Ziggy. I love that my hubby is a babywearing dad! He has always been so hands-on with Ziggy in every way possible. This was taken at the Bonifacio High Street a few months ago.

Looking at these photos makes me reminisce about Ziggy’s baby days. I miss those days. I just hope that Ziggy will still let us wear him every now and then until he’s at least two years old.
