Event Alert: Bringing Out The Best In Your Yaya & Househelper

One of the things I’ve had problems with in the past couple of years is finding a trustworthy, honest and reliable housekeeper. We haven’t had a yaya (“nanny” for the sake of my international readers) in years because my daughters are big girls now and we purposely did not want to hire one when my son was born almost two years ago. However, we kept hiring housekeepers to help with the household chores such as cleaning, doing the laundry, cooking, etc. The thing is, although we were able to hire some, we always end up having an issue with them, ranging from them not doing their job properly, stealing, lying, not returning promptly after a day off, borrowing money…. The list goes on. Honestly, sometimes it’s easier and less stressful to not have a housekeeper at all. If there was only a way for us to help our housekeepers become more professional, why not, right?
Well, recently, VentureLab Business Resource Center Inc., a company that provides Corporate Training,  Business Seminars and other workshops, reached out to me and told me about this new seminar of theirs that is geared towards improving your yaya or housekeepers. They have come up with the “Bringing Out The Best In Your Yaya & Househelpers” seminar, which started last October. It is a one-day seminar that will teach your yaya and househelpers about household etiquette, child care, first aid and hygiene, to be taught by Cristina Mendoza, RN / Preschool Teacher.
The next seminar will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at Unit 4J Westgate Tower, Madrigal Business Park, Alabang Muntinlupa City from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. They actually hold this seminar every Saturdays. Special sessions on weekdays may likewise be arranged with a minimum of 5 attendees.
The topics to be discussed include the following:

  • Self-worth (Self-worth to better working attitude, love yourself, who are you working for, love what you do)
  • Manners and Etiquette
  • Responsibilities/Housework (Cleaning, Home-made alternatives, Food Concerns, Home Security, “KID”-centered, First-aid, Iwas Stress sa Yaya)
  • Open Forum
The seminar fee is PhP 2,500.00, inclusive of lunch, 2 snacks, beverages and a seminar kit.
While I haven’t tried any of VentureLab’s workshops yet, this one sounds promising. For those of you who want to have a better relationship with your yaya and housekeepers and make sure that they become the best that they can be in their profession, you might want to check this out.
