I Have a Professional Website!

Several weeks ago, I blogged about my freelance writing goals for 2013. On that short list, #3 was to create my own professional website. I know that I can always promote my writing services on this blog or on my social media accounts. However, having a professional website just makes it more official. I really wanted to have my own site so that I can have a place, aside from LinkedIn, to showcase what I can do.

Honestly, I was planning on creating the site some time during the summer because I just have so much going on nowadays. Little did I know that I’d be able to finish it now, as in, less than 24 hours after I first started working on it last night. Yep! It was that fast. Why the rush?

Well, I was still working a little past midnight last night when I chanced upon GoDaddy.com’s new promo, wherein you only need to avail of a discounted annual hosting plan of only $1/month, and you get to build your own website plus have a free domain. It was such a great deal that I just had to grab it right then and there. I was so excited I immediately started working on the site. I finished the homepage at 3:00 a.m. Then continued to finish three other pages this afternoon. Now I have a website, and I only paid less than $13.00 for it!!!

Isn’t it cute? I used a free template but I don’t care. I just customized it with the colors and the layout. I’m pretty happy with it. I’m also super happy with the fact that my name is now also a domain – janicetlim.com. Vain, much? Haha!
