I was set on spending Mother’s Day somewhere else this year. However, when Jollibee suddenly invited us to the Jollibee Family Bee Day Grand Picnic in Nuvali last Saturday, we decided to accept the invitation and celebrate Mother’s Day there a day early. We have never been to such an event before so we were all really excited to experience it for the first time.

As the grandest picnic ever, the Jollibee Family Bee Day gathered families, big and small, in five venues nationwide, for an afternoon filled with performances, outdoor games and Jollibee treats.

By turning an ordinary summer afternoon into a fun-filled celebration with exciting entertainment from some of the country’s leading celebrities and bands, outdoor fun and games and great-tasting food, the country’s number one family fast-food chain truly enabled thousands of families to celebrate the grandest picnic ever!

It was really the grandest picnic ever because it wasn’t held only at Nuvali, where we attended the event. Thousands of families converged in five different venues across the country. It was actually held simultaneously at the Quirino Grandstand in Metro Manila, Bayanihan Park in Pampanga, Nuvali football grounds in Laguna, Plaza Independencia in Cebu and Crocodile Park in Davao.

From the entrance, we could already see all the fun that awaits inside the event grounds. The place looked very festive. Even if the skies were gray when we got there, we excitedly trooped inside with our picnic mats, food and drinks.

But as it turns out, we didn’t really need to bring that extra food because of course, Jollibee served us with bags of food filled with Regular Yum with Cheese, Peach Mango Pie, juice and water. They even gave us hats too, which proved to be very useful because it drizzled a little at one point then the sun came out real strong right after!

I really admired how organized the event was. We were all given color-coded bracelets. Then when the time food was distributed, all we had to do was line up in the food booths according to the color of our bracelets. I love it! And oh, aside from Jollibee, there were also other food booths in the area from their sister companies, Greenwich and Red Ribbon.

Even before the program started, there were already a lot of things the family could do at the event. We had our photo taken at this huge frame near the entrance.

We also watched jugglers and stilt walkers perform.

A marching band was likewise there to entertain. Plus, there were game booths and this HUGE inflatable slide that Ziggy loved so much that he kept wanting to go back!

What we all really enjoyed though were the performances on stage. Regine Tolentino with husband, Lander Vera-Perez and their two kids came by. Some members of the Jollibee Kids Club danced.

Moonstar88 performed several popular songs that we truly enjoyed.

Erik Santos also performed a couple of songs.

Everyone enjoyed Marian Rivera perform onstage especially when she picked a guy from the audience to dance and sing with her.

But of course, the performers we enjoyed the most were the Jollibee mascots! The event will not be complete without them.

I heard that in the other venues, there were a lot of celebrities who performed or visited the picnic as well. Martin Nievera, Klarisse de Guzman and Callalily top-billed the list of performers who entertained families at the Quirino Grandstand. Yum endorser Julia Barretto, Shaina Magdayao, Rayver Cruz and 6Cyclemind wowed audiences at the Bayanihan Park. Gerald Anderson, Julie Ann San Jose and Sponge Cola thrilled families and friends at the Plaza Independencia while Maja Salvador, Slater Young and Imago entertained Jollibee Family Bee Day picnic-goers at the CrocodilePark. Celebrities Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi  and Vince and Patricia Hizon also came with their families to have a picnic.

I wasn’t really expecting though that aside from greeting all the moms an advance Happy Mother’s Day that they would still do something else for us.

But, they actually distributed balloons to the moms, which made the event extra special. I love it! We really had so much fun!

To see more photos of the event, just check out Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. For sure, there were a lot of us who posted photos of our experience there using the hashtag #FamilyBeeDay.

Only the country’s number one fast food chain can turn an ordinary summer day into the grandest picnic ever. Thanks for inviting us, Jollibee!
