When it comes to washing my baby’s clothes, I have to be a smart mom. Baby skin is more sensitive than ours, which means we have to use products that are specially made for them. So, I was so happy when Smart Steps sent me a basket full of their products several weeks ago.

I’m no stranger to the brand. I first learned about Smart Steps around 5 years ago when our Ziggy was still a baby. We used their products then and loved them. Now that we have a new baby, Zander, in the house, of course we’re using their products yet again.

Smart Steps is a brand of baby laundry detergents and cleansers that are not only specially made for baby’s sensitive skin but are also pocket-friendly for moms on a budget. Their product line includes the following:

Smart Steps Powder and Liquid Detergent

These products can be used to hand wash or soak your baby’s clothes in. They are hypoallergenic and has no phosphates, dyes or optical brighteners usually found in regular detergents.

Smart Steps Fabric Softener

This softener recovers the natural softness in baby’s clothes without the heavy dyes.

We send 90% of our laundry to our suking laundry shop because we have no laundry area in our apartment. We put our baby’s clothes in a separate bag though so that the laundry shop staff will know that they must be washed separately. We also provide them with our own laundry detergent and fabric softener to make sure that our baby’s clothes come back as clean and as gentle as possible. Of course, we sent them Smart Steps detergent and fabric softener. The baby clothes came back really clean and soft. I don’t need to worry about Zander getting an allergic reaction to them at all.

Smart Steps Laundry Detergent Bar

This is the brand’s newest addition to their product line. It doesn’t have harsh chemicals so it has a mild formula that can remove tough stains on baby’s clothes such as breast milk or poop stains. It’s in a very handy form to spot clean clothes easily and has a delightful powdery scent. Also, it only costs Php 34.00.

We don’t send the detergent bar to the laundry shop anymore. Instead, I use this at home to wash Zander’s clothes whenever he has poop accidents, which is common when you have a baby! I love that this bar really cleans clothes easily and is also gentle to my hands.

Smart Steps Baby Bottle Cleanser

I am exclusively breastfeeding Zander but occasionally I let him drink expressed breastmilk from a bottle whenever I have to leave him at home for a few hours. I love that this cleanser doesn’t smell like soap at all but can strip off milk stains easily with its Easy Rinse Formula. It’s made of plant based ingredients too so you can be sure no chemicals will be left in your baby’s bottle.

Smart Steps Stages Anti-Mosquito Patch

We have to very wary of Dengue and Zika. I have become more vigilant about this after my daughter had a bout of dengue fever last year. So now I make sure my kids use this anti-mosquito patch whenever we go out. I love to use this patch because you just need to stick it on your kids’ clothes. No need for lotions or creams that may contain ingredients that can irritate their skin.

With these Smart Steps products, you can be a smart mom too because you can make sure your baby stays healthy and protected without breaking the bank!

  1. I’ve used baby detergent too when I still have a baby. At that time, parang wala ko nakikita na Smart Steps brand, good to know that there are more choices in the market. I love the scent of baby detergent din. 🙂

  3. I was able to say I haven’t tried any Smart Steps product until I saw those mosquito patches. We love using them not just for my 17-month-old boy but for my feeling grown up boys, too. Even I use them when we go somewhere I am not familiar with or places I know are mosquito infested areas.

  4. I agree, babies/kids have the most sensitive skin! I’m fortunate that my son doesn’t have a sensitive skin. When he was a baby, we weren’t using hypoallergenic soaps for his clothes. I haven’t tried any of their products but I knew one who was given a set of products to try too. Which reminds me, I haven’t asked her about it yet.

  5. When you have tiny baby with really soft skin, a mother really can’t bear the thought of anything harsh touching her baby’s skin, no? We are so fortunate that there are products like these specifically made for babies. Kudos to Smart Steps!
